Siinqee Bank publishes transaction receipts at a public URL: https://receipt.ebirr.com/siinqee/{token}. No authentication is required. cheki fetches this URL, parses the HTML receipt, and returns structured JSON with sender name, receiver name, amount, date, and reference number.

What you need to verify a Siinqee receipt

To verify a Siinqee receipt, you need only the transaction reference number.

• Transaction reference number (e.g. SQ12345678), found on the receipt or in the Siinqee app
• No account number required, Siinqee returns the full receipt with just the reference

How to spot a fake Siinqee receipt

Fake Siinqee receipts are a growing problem in Ethiopia. A fake receipt may have a real-looking reference number but will not appear in Siinqee's system. Always verify through cheki or the official Siinqee app. If cheki returns 'Receipt not found', the receipt is likely fake.

• Check that the sender name matches who claimed to send the payment
• Verify the amount matches what was agreed
• Confirm the date is recent (not an old receipt being reused)
• Check the reference number format (Alphanumeric transaction reference)
