Checking Hibret payment status
Hibret Bank publishes transaction data at Researching public receipt endpoint. When someone sends you a payment via Hibret, a receipt is generated at this URL. cheki fetches the receipt, parses it, and tells you whether the payment is real, who sent it, and for how much. This takes 2 to 10 seconds.
What information you need
To check a Hibret payment, ask the sender for the transaction reference number from their receipt. That's all you need, no account number required.

Frequently asked questions
How do I check if a Hibret payment was successful?
Select Hibret Bank on cheki, enter the transaction reference number, and click Verify. If the payment exists, cheki shows you the sender name, receiver name, amount, and date. If it doesn't exist, the payment was not completed or the receipt is fake.
Can I check a Hibret payment without the receipt?
You need the transaction reference number. This is shown on the receipt and in the Hibret app's transaction history. Without it, there is no way to look up a Hibret transaction through public endpoints.
Is checking Hibret payments free?
Yes. cheki checks Hibret payments for free with no limits. check.et charges 499 ETB/month after 200 checks for the same data. cheki uses the same public Hibret endpoint.
