Checking Awash payment status
Awash Bank publishes transaction data at https://awashpay.awashbank.com:8225/-{BASE36_TRANSACTION_ID}-{COUNTER_TOKEN}. When someone sends you a payment via Awash, a receipt is generated at this URL. cheki fetches the receipt, parses it, and tells you whether the payment is real, who sent it, and for how much. This takes 2 to 10 seconds.

Frequently asked questions
How do I check if a Awash payment was successful?
Select Awash Bank on cheki, enter the transaction reference number, and click Verify. If the payment exists, cheki shows you the sender name, receiver name, amount, and date. If it doesn't exist, the payment was not completed or the receipt is fake.
Can I check a Awash payment without the receipt?
You need the transaction reference number. This is shown on the receipt and in the Awash app's transaction history. Without it, there is no way to look up a Awash transaction through public endpoints.
Is checking Awash payments free?
Yes. cheki checks Awash payments for free with no limits. check.et charges 499 ETB/month after 200 checks for the same data. cheki uses the same public Awash endpoint.
